Answers:
Wa Alaikum As Salaam,
1) Yes, white gold is permissible for women to wear.
2) The minimum value of Mehr that can be given to a woman is 10 dirhams. When calculated, this amounts to approximately $174.00 TT. There is no maximum and limit to the Mehr. It has been left open for a woman and her guardian to decide. However, it is not permissible for one to be oppressive in this matter by stipulating a high Mehr which would be difficult for the boy to pay.
