Omnipresence of the Prophet (SAW)
Q. I would like to know the view of the majority of the Ulama on the alleged omnipresence of the Holy Prophet (SAW).
A. The established Aqeedah of the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah (Sunni Muslims) is that the Prophet (SAS) is not Omni present. (The Mas’ala of Hadhir and Nadhir (Omni presence page 24). There is absolutely no difference of opinion on this matter among the scholars of the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah. In fact, from the time of the Prophet (SA) until today, all the scholars and Muslims who held on to the true teachings of the Prophet (SA) and that of the Sahabahs (Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah ) have unanimously declared that the ‘invented teaching of the Omnipresence of the prophet (SA)’ is not established in the teachings of Islam.
This is the view of all the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah.
As for those who subscribe to the Omni presence of the Prophet (SA), they are following an innovated teaching, and not the ‘Sunni’ teaching. Although they may claim that they hold on to the teachings of the Sunni Muslims, this innovated belief is not from the creed of the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah. For more information you can read our article on ‘Hazir and Nazir’ for the Prophet (SA).
And Allah knows best.
