A husband scandalizing his wife name

Question:

Asalaam u alikum,

I want to know if it is okay for a husband to scandlize his wife name and he thinks that is something good he is doing. I being a woman has asked him for a divorce about a year ago, this year he told me to organize for it, which I did, I went to the Divorce board and I proceed. I have being wrongly accused by him, am I wrong for doing this.

Answer:

Wa Alaikum as Salaam,

It is totally haram for the husband to do this. If he does not wish to live with his wife, then he should separate from the wife instead of scandalizing her.

This which the husband is doing is a very grave sin in Islam.
