What is the reason that odd times are better than even?
Question:
assalam u alaikum
what is the reason that odd times are better than even?
for example
sunnah is 3 times
naming of the baby is done on the 7th, 14th or 21st day in ruku and sidja du’a is said 3 times
Answer:
Wa Alaikumus Salaam,
The Prophet (S.A) once said, ‘Certainly Allah is One (which is an odd number) and He loves that which is done in odd numbers’.
Based on this, the Prophet (S.A) loved to do things in odd numbers, hence, the Tasbeeh of ruku, Sajdah etc and other things are in odd numbers.
