Discharges Whilst Fasting
Question: If someone had mazi come out whilst awake and then wraps toilet paper on himself and when he goes to the toilet later to urinate he sees some sticky stuff its not semen as it didn’t gush out rather the fluid was sticky and there is some tiny white bits on the penis this is from the toilet paper right? ghusl wouldn’t be wajib i assume?
also if someone is fasting and they put their fingers down their throat but they aren’t trying to force themselves to vomit its to check there’s nothing in the throat that will be swallowed they take the fingers outside their mouth there is like some wetness on the fingers like the saliva but they put the fingers back down the throat to check again if anyone is down the throat to avoid swallowing something is the fast still valid keeping in mind he does not remember saliva being on his fingers if he did it forgetfully is it still valid also what if he isn’t sure but he thinks the fast is still valid based on his estimation.
Answer:
Assalamu Alaikum,
In the first case where Mazi came out, it was essential for the person to wash his penis and do over Wuzu when there is the need to do so. If the Mazi/discharge came upon his clothing, then he will have to change it or wash that area which became soiled with the discharge.
With respect to the ‘sticky stuff’, it is possible that it could be ‘Mani’ (semen) since this is closer to the description of Mani (semen) than that of ‘Mazi’. Even though it did not gush forth, it is possible that this came about on account of ‘shahwa’ (an orgasm) which you may have subsequently experienced. In this case, the most precautious view is that you take a ghusl for this. (Al Jawhara An Nayarah vol. 1 pg. 43 Qadeemi Kutub Khana Karachi)
In the second case, the fast will still be valid.
And Allah Knows best.
