Dhikr 7
(Remembrance of Allah)
عَنْ جُوَيْرِيَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ مِنْ عِنْدِهَا بُكْرَةً حِينَ صَلَّى الصُّبْحَ، وَهِيَ فِي مَسْجِدِهَا، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ بَعْدَ أَنْ أَضْحَى، وَهِيَ جَالِسَةٌ، فَقَالَ: «مَا زِلْتِ عَلَى الْحَالِ الَّتِي فَارَقْتُكِ عَلَيْهَا؟» قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ” لَقَدْ قُلْتُ بَعْدَكِ أَرْبَعَ كَلِمَاتٍ، ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، لَوْ وُزِنَتْ بِمَا قُلْتِ مُنْذُ الْيَوْمِ لَوَزَنَتْهُنَّ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ
Hazrat Abu Juwairiah (RA) narrated that, “When the Messenger of Allah left my house for the morning prayer, I was sitting on the prayer mat (busy in Allah’s Zikr). When he came back after chaasht prayer (just before midday), I was still sitting in the same position. He ask me whether I had continued in that position right from the time he left in the morning. I replied in the affirmative. He then said, “After I left you, I recited four kalimahs three times which if compared to all that you have recited since the morning, will be found to outweigh it. These Kalimahs are:
سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ
