DUA (Supplication)
THE WEAPON OF A BELIEVER
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ
وَسَلَّمَ: ” إِذَا أَوَى أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ فَلْيَنْفُضْ
فِرَاشَهُ بِدَاخِلَةِ إِزَارِهِ، فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَدْرِي مَا خَلَفَهُ
عَلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: بِاسْمِكَ رَبِّ وَضَعْتُ جَنْبِي وَبِكَ
أَرْفَعُهُ، إِنْ أَمْسَكْتَ نَفْسِي فَارْحَمْهَا، وَإِنْ أَرْسَلْتَهَا فَاحْفَظْهَا بِمَا تَحْفَظُ بِهِ عِبَادَكَ الصَّالِحِينَ
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “When anyone of you go to bed, he should shake out the bed with the inside of his waist sheet, for he does not know what has come on it after him. Then he would say:
بِاسْمِكَ رَبِّ وَضَعْتُ جَنْبِي وَبِكَ أَرْفَعُهُ، إِنْ أَمْسَكْتَ نَفْسِي فَارْحَمْهَا، وَإِنْ أَرْسَلْتَهَا فَاحْفَظْهَا بِمَا تَحْفَظُ بِهِ عِبَادَكَ الصَّالِحِينَ
Bismika Rabbi wada’tu janbi wa bika arfa uhu in amsakta nafsi farhamha, wa in arsaltaha fahfazha bima tahfazu bihi ibaadakas salihin
In the Your name O Lord I place my side and with You (Your help) I awake. If You withhold my soul, then have mercy on it. And if You release it then protect it in the way You protect Your righteous servents.
