If a woman dies while she is unclean will her ghusl be accepted?
Question:
Asalamu alikum dear mufti,
I have three questions insha allah.
1. If a woman dies while she is unclean will her ghusl before the janaza be accepted? What are the procedures on this?
2. If fast were broken during the month of ramdhan by the fault of the person, will there be hardship for that year? Meaning would there year be hard and full of difficulties?
3. Finally, There is a week to fast before performing qurbani. When exactly is the start of this? What should be done to gain full advantage of this week?
Jazak Allah Khair for your time. I do appreciate your continous efforts and thank you so much for all that you have done in assisting me. May Allah preserve you iman ameen.
Answer:
Wa Alaikum as Salaam,
1) Yes, the Ghusl given to a woman who died in an unclean state will be valid and accepted. The procedures will be the same as for other women.
2) The fast being broken on account of negligence is extremely sinful, but, it does not mean that there would be difficulty and hardship for that year. Bringing ease or difficulty is Allah’s decision, and if he wishes to bring about hardships upon a person who disobeyed Him, then he has the full authority to do so. If He wishes to bring ease to that person (as per his divine decree) then this is also his choice. He does whatever He wishes, whenever He wishes. It is for Him to decide whether He wishes to punish the person immediately, delay his punishment to the hereafter or forgive the person(due to his repentance and seeking forgiveness).
Notwithstanding the fact that this is sinful, it is not a fixed and stipulated principle that being negligent in one’s fast will necessarily bring about hardship for that year. This is for Allah to decide. A person who has done this should make Tauba (repentance) to Allah and make up for the missed fasts.
3) There is no stipulated week of fasting before Qurbani. Instead, the first 10 days of Zul Hijja (the month of Qurbani) are very blessed days and are great days for the Ibadah and worship of Allah. All acts of worship done on these days are greatly rewarded by Allah especially fasting and optional Salaah. One is therefore encouraged to fast on any of the first 9days of Zul Hijja, especially on the 9th of Zul Hijja which is the day of Arafah (this is a very blessed fast). Besides this, one should engage himself/herself in doing other acts of worship on these days and nights.
It will not be permissible to fast on the 10th, 11th and 12th of Zul Hijja. These are the days of Eid.
And Allah knows best,
