Accepting Isa (A.S.).

Question:

Someone has said that if you do not accept Isa Alaihis Salaam before your father and mother then you are not a true believer. Is this true, if it is so or not could you please explain it?

Answer:

I do not understand this statement. Obviously one would naturally accept his father and mother before he can ever begin to eat and drink properly from as early as a young child. So if the person explains what he/she means then we will be able to give an answer.

If it is that the statement means that you should give preference to Isa (AS) before your father and mother then this statement would not be proper according to Islamic teachings.

According to the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah we (as muslims) must prefer Allah and His Rasool (Muhammad (SAS)) above everyone and anyone. As muslims we must believe in all Prophets which also includes Isa (A.S). However we are commanded to obey Allah and follow the teachings of the final Prophet Muhammad (SAS).

And Allah knows best.
