The awrah of a man during salaah.
Q. As far as I know, the awrah of a man is the area between his navel and his knee. Sometimes I see men wearing their shirts tucked inside of their pants while performing salaat. Seeing that this defines the area or awrah of these men, does wearing the garment like this invalidate the salaat?
A. The awrah of a man is from the navel to the knee. If any part from this area remains exposed for a long duration in Salaah then the Salaah will be invalid.
In the query made, if the shirt remains in the pants and does not cause the awrah to be exposed, then the Salaah remains valid since the awrah did not become exposed.
If however, while going for ruku and sujud the shirt comes out of the pants and causes the awrah to be exposed, then the Salaah will be invalid if the awrah remained exposed for a long duration.
The simple act of wearing the garment in this manner will not invalidate the Salaah. What brings about an invalidation in the Salaah is the actual exposure of the Awrah.
And Allah knows best.
