DHIKR AFTER SALAAH
QUESTION:
As Salaamu Alaikum,
I saw a relative of mine performing salaah but when she is done and give her salaams, she made dhkira but in a extra sajdah, my question is , is it permissible to perform an extra sajdah while making your dhkir after you’ve given salaams in salaah? JazaakAllah khair.
ANSWER:
Wa Alaikum As Salaam,
Going into Sajdah to make the dhikr after Salah is not from the practice of the Prophet (S.A.W), nor is it a practice of the Sahabahs and Tabieen. The way of the Prophet (S.A.W.) was that after he completed his Salah, he used to sit down and do his dhikr. Therefore, you should advise your relative that she must not go into sajdah to do her dhikr.
