DONATING BLOOD WHILE FASTING

Question:

One of our family has to undergo a surgery at present, and I am being asked to donate blood to the family member since it is a necessity. However, I am presently observing the fast of Ramdhan and I do not know if it will be allowed for me to donate blood while I am fasting. Can you please guide me on this?

 

Answer:

It would be allowed to donate blood even though you are currently observing the fast. However, if  you fear that you may become weak after donating  blood, then it would be disliked for you to do so as this will affect your fast.
