Dua For Ailments Of The Eye

Question: Asalamu alaikum. Wr.wb. Mufti,

I would like to ask, is there any duas for eye sickness (eye pain, burning etc). Thank you.

Answer: Wa Alaikum As Salaam,

The scholars have written that if one has sore eyes then he should recite Sura Al Fatiha 41 times between the Sunnah and Fardh salaah, then blow at the back (or on the nails) of both thumbs and rub these onto both eyes. This is an excellent remedy for sore eyes.

If one is suffering from inflammation (burning of the eyes, then he/she should recite verses 35,36,37,38 of Surah Nur in Arabic, 3 times after Fajr salaah and blow on the back of both thumbs and rub onto both eyes. This should be done daily until cured. (Aamal Qurani pg. 68).
