The two easts and the two wests
Question
In the Quran, Allah (s.w.t.) speaks about the two easts and the two wests. Can you explain about the two easts and the two wests?
Answer
The ‘two east’ signifies the points from which the sun rises in summer and winter, and the ‘two west’ signifies the points where the sun sets in summer and winter. By using these words, everything between these directions is included. (Tafseer Ibn Katheer (Arabic) vol.4 pg.271)
