Is it obligatory for Muslim to obey hostel or college rules?
ANSWER:
Wa Alaikum As Salaam,
If you are staying in a college or hostel and the rules at these places are not in conflict with the teachings of Islam, and these rules do not require you to do things that are Haram (unlawful) in Islam, then once you have entered into the college or hostel and signed to obey the laws/rules, it becomes binding upon you to obey these.
However, if you are taking admission in a college or hostel where the rules/laws at these places require you to violate the laws of Islam or be involved in things that are Haram (unlawful), then it will not be permissible for you to take admission into such places. If you are already there, you should leave peacefully.
