Forehead touching the ground in salaah.
Q. I am female … when we do sajdah in salaat, some part of the forehead is covered with veil and some part is open. Somebody told me that during salaat the forehead should be open in sajdah. Sometimes my headscarf is tied in such a way that the whole forehead is covered and in sajdah no part of the open forehead touches the ground. Does that invalidate my salaat? Also do I have to repeat such salaat? But I don’t know when my forehead was fully covered and when not?
A. In Sajda, it is a condition that the forehead and tip of the nose touch the surface of the ground. It is not a condition that the forehead be uncovered or it be bare. Once the forehead is placed on the surface of the ground, then your Sajda, and your salaah will be valid, and there is no reason to be concerned about this. There is no law that states that your forehead has to be open in Sajdah.
And Allah knows best.
