Forgetting to recite a Surah in salaat.
Q. What should I do if I made a mistake and recited only Surah Fatiha in one of the first two rakaats of a four rakaat Fard salaat? Also if I realise my mistake before saying salaams.
A. In the above mentioned case, if you remembered that you have left out the recitation of Quran before you complete the last two rakaats, then you must recite Quran along with Sura Fatiha in either the third or fourth rakaat and then make the extra two sajdas at the end of the salaah.
If you have already completed your salaah and then realized the mistake, you should repeat the salaah, seeing that you have missed an essential element of the salaah.
If you realize your mistake before making salaams, then the extra two sajdas will not be able to rectify the mistake. As such, in this case also, you should repeat your salaah.
