Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahamatullah,

الجواب و بالله التوفيق

  1. One of the duas to remove difficult problems and calamities is the dua of Prophet Yunus (A.S). The Dua is:

لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ اِنِّيْ كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِيْن

‘LAA ILAHA ILLA ANTA SUBHAANAKA INNI KUNTU MINADH DHAALIMEEN’

‘There is no God but You. Glory be to you. Indeed, I am from the wrongdoers.’

This is the dua which Yunus (A.S) made to Allah when he was in great distress and difficulty. He was imprisioned in the belly of the fish and there was no way out for him except to call on Allah and beg Him to take him out from that calamity. About this the Quran says,

‘Then he (Yunus) called out in the darkness, (saying) ‘Laa Ilaha Illa Anta Subhaanaka Inni Kuntu Minadh Dhaalimeen.’ So We responded to his call, and rescued him from distress. Thus do We rescue the believer.’ (Surah Al Ambiya (21), V.87,88).

About this dua, the Prophet (S.A.S) is reported to have said, ‘No Muslim supplicates to Allah with the Dua of Yunus (A.S) for anything, except that his dua is accepted.’ (Abu Dawood).

  1. The only way and effective method to achieve success in one’s aim/goal is to adopt the way which has been given in the teachings of Islam. This means that one must always do the right thing in the right manner. One must always adopt the halal means to fulfil one’s objective. Whether one’s gaol is marriage, work, friendship, entertainment, business etc., one must adopt the way the Shariah has prescribed for doing that thing. It is only when one follows the sacred Shariah and adopts halal means to achieve something, he will truly be successful. Adopting ways and means that are against the teachings of Islam in order to realise one’s goal will not bring success. It will only bring failure, even though one may perceive it as success.

Whenever you make a decision to do something and adopt the right way towards achieving your goal, then place your firm reliance and trust in Allah. Insha Allah, He will suffice for you. About this, Allah says,

‘Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allah. Certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust in Him.’ (Surah Al Imran (3), V.159).

In another verse, the Quran says, ‘And whoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice Him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed, Allah has set a measure for all things.’ (Surah At Talaq (65), V.3).

And Allah Knows Best.
