Using Inhaler while fasting
Question:
I have been clinically diagnosed with bronchitis. Sometimes I feel very congested during the day and may need to take my inhaler. is it permissible while fasting?
Answer:
Assalaamu Alaikum,
The use of the inhaler while fasting will invalidate the fast. As such, if you are compelled to use it on certain days, then you can use it on account of your situation, but (you) must make the Qadha of those days on which you have used the inhaler, (that is, you must make up for those days after Ramadhan- since the fast of those days in which you used the inhaler were broken).
