Answer:
Wa Alaikumus Salaam Wa Rahmatullah
No, it is not Fard for a husband to give a salary to his wife for doing wifely duties and household chores etc. However, it is recommended by many great scholars for him to give her a stipend as a way of showing appreciation to her for many things she may do for him which extends beyond her compulsory duties, and also as a way for her to have her own/personal savings.
If however, she works for him in his business, or does services that helps his business, then she should receive a salary for this.
