What does this mean is it permissable to have sex with your slave ??

A: Assalamu alaikum,

The verse means that it was allowed for the believers to have sexual relations with their wives whom they have married and with the female slaves who were in their ownership and possession. this was permissible for the prophets of the past and their followers, and so it was the law in Islam because a female slave was known to be the property of one who was the master.

However, with the end of slavery, this allowance does not exist today. A slave is one who can be sold and purchased and that does not exist today. So, this allowance no longer exist.
