Assalaamu Alaikum Mufti, is it permissible for a muslim man to wear a themed enamel pin on his clothing? It will be displayed or showing and not like a safety pin that’s hidden.
ANSWER:
Wa Alaikum As Salaam,
Yes, it is permissible for a man to wear a themed enamel pin on his clothing, even though it may be displayed and not hidden. However, if there are words inscribed on the pin, these must not be such that they invite to, propagate, advertise or display that which is against the teachings of Islam. Similarly, the pin must not bear designs of animate objects or such logos or illustrations that represent non-Islamic practices, customs and beliefs.
