QUESTION
Assalamualykum..Hope this email finds you in good health..Recently whilst performing the salaah of asr i lost track of how many rakaats i had performed due to my own weakness..I cannot remember if i performed 3 or 4 rakaats..i performed sajda sawh..i want to know if i should perform my salaah again and whould like to know the masla..

ANSWER
Wa Alaikum As Salaam,

In this case, you do not need to repeat your Salaah. However, in future in such cases, you need to consider the amount read to be the minimum amount. That is, if you are doubtful about performing 3 or 4 rakaats, then continue your Salaah as having performed 3 rakaats, and read another rakaat to make it 4. At the end of your Salaah, you will make the two extra Sajdah of forgetfulness.
