RULING OF A MA’DHOOR (EXCUSED PERSON).
Question:
Assalaamu Alaikum.
I would like to kindly ask if a person is a Ma’dhoor, and they purify themself and perform wudhu for Fajr salaah, and they remain seated, could they continue to make Dhikr, Masnoon Duas, Quranic duas and Tawbah even after sunrise?
Or is it that after sunrise, they are considered impure and can no longer make dhikr?

Answer:
Wa Alaikum As Salaam,
The ruling of a Ma’dhoor (an excused person) is that he/she must perform wudhu for each salat time and perform salat and other acts of worship with that wudhu. When the time of that salat comes to an end, the wudhu will become null and invalid. Based on this, it means that if one performed wudhu for Fajr Salah, then with sunrise that wudhu will be broken. The person will then become impure and will not remain in the state of wudhu except he/she refreshes the wudhu. Hence, with respect to what you have asked, a person can make dhikr, recite duas etc after sunrise even though the wudhu has broken, since these acts can be done without wudhu. If one wishes, one can also refreshe one’s wudhu after sunrise and do these acts of worship including recitation of the Quran and optional salah. In this case, one will be in the state of wudhu while doing these actions.
