RULING ON PIG SKIN

Question:

Assalaamu Alaikum,
I purchased a pair of leather shoes that I thought were made of all cowhide leather. However, I learned afterwards that the shoe lining is made from pigskin leather. The shoes are brand new and unworn.
Do I throw the shoes in the trash, or can I re-sell them to a non-Muslim for how much I originally paid for them, or can I give them away to a non-Muslim?

Answer:
Wa Alaikum As Salaam,

The pig skin is filthy in every way, and the shoes made with it cannot be sold to earn money. As, such, you should give them away to a non-Muslim.
