Someone is aware that the consumption of alcohol is haraam and still does it
Question:
If someone is aware that the consumption of alcohol is haraam and still does it under a very difficult position or a situation which could not be help what is he or she suppose to do?
Answer:
Assalaamu Alaikum,
If the person is forced to consume alcohol on account of a dire need and necessity to save his life, or his health then this is allowed, and he will not be sinful. If this is not the case, and he has consumed alcohol, then he has committed a grave sin in Islam and must repent sincerely to Allah.
Simply being in a difficult position is not enough.
