USING LIVE BAIT FOR FISHING

As Salaamu Alaikum,
What is the ruling concerning fishing using live bait?
ANASER:
Wa Alaikum As Salaam,
It is Makrooh (reprehensible) to use live bait while fishing since one will be causing harm to a living creature without a just cause. Fishes that are caught in this manner however, will be proper to consume. The best is to use the bait which is dead already before putting it on the hook before fishing. (Kitab An Nawazil Vol. 14 page 397 Darul Ishaat Karachi 2016.
