Women going to Juma without a male.

Q. Is there any restriction to sisters going to Jum’a unaccompanied by a male?

A. The requirement for a woman to be accompanied by a Mahram (male blood relative) is connected to such a travel/trip/journey which, when undertaken, makes her a traveler in the shariah. The distance for such travels is given as 48 miles. This means that if the woman is traveling to a distance that is less than this, she will not be required to have a Mahram with her.

Hence, sisters who attend the Masjid for Juma salaah in their districts, villages and cities would not be required to be accompanied by a male. They can go to the masjid without a male since it is not 48 miles.

However, seeing that Fitnas (mischief, wrongdoing and sins) have become widespread and Muslim sisters are heckled, molested and harassed while on the streets, it is highly recommended and encouraged for a Mahram/male to accompany them when they go to the masjid.

And Allah knows best.
