Performing Sajdah on a table.
Question:
Sometimes our Imam (of Taraweeh Salaah) experiences a type of dizziness when he performs sajdah. Is it permissible for him to perform the sajdah on a table placed in front of him and in this way lead the Salaah?
Answer:
It is not permissible for the Imam to do such. He may do it as a follower (muqtadi) or when he is performing his Salaah individually (munfarid) when there is the dire need to do so. However he cannot do so as an Imam leading the general congregation.
