TOUCHING A MAHRAM WOMAN
QUESTION:
As Salaamu Alaikum,
Is it permissible for a man to touch any part of the body of mahram woman with barrier of clothes?. For example placing hands on her waist and lifting her up so that she can pick stuff from top shelf of closet.
Wa Alaikum As Salaam,
ANSWER:
It is permissible for a man to touch those parts of the body of a Mahram woman which are permissible for him to look at, when there is no fear of lust or sexual desire in his heart or the heart of the Mahram woman. The waist is part of the awrah of the Mahram woman which he cannot look at, and so, he cannot touch or place his hands on it.
