Wife changing her surname
Question:
There is a debate as to whether it is haram to take the name of one’s husband or retain the name of your father. Please clarify this issue. Jazakallah Khairan.
Answer:
Wa Alaikum As Salaam
It is permissible to take the name (title) of one’s husband, and it is also permissible to retain the name (title) of your father.
